When I was young, kora was played in the traditional way with one person playing the strings and another keeping the beat on the calabash. The transition from a listening music to one for dancing was led by Jaliba Kuyateh and Tata Dindin Jobarteh, and ‘Mama Sawo’ is a traditional song that was very popular at that time.
