about

When I was younger I always wanted to travel, especially to Senegal, Mali and Guinea to learn music. To Senegal because of my love of sabars and mbalax. To Guinea because of their top djembe players. To Mali because of all their fantastic acoustic music. But I never had the opportunity to travel on my own until after I had lived in Denmark for 5 years. I then went to Senegal and Mali, and wrote this song before leaving.

lyrics

mbita tamula mbita jaliya tamula

mbita la gambia
mbita la mali
mbita la la guinee
mbita la ghana - yeh senegal

ketumo fotumo bentumo duniya
taman taman - yeh duniya

dunira taman
duniy long mandii

silo dialla
allamah silo dialla
tama silo dialla

I’m going on a musical journey
I’m going to Gambia, Mali, Guinea, Ghana, Senegal

When the opportunity comes to you, go and explore the world
Travel, travel – the world
Enjoy life
Explore the world
The world is not easy to know

Nice trip
May God fulfill your journey
Nice road trip
